New life - an old home makeover
Judith house felt a bit tired and not very inviting. She loves nature, animals, crafts, but it didn't come across when you enter the house. My goals were to make it a cozy, "hugging" space, to let the beautiful surrounding nature - come inside, and Judith personality - to come out.
Amongst everything else it was important to show case the art she likes and the artifacts she collected over the years. Judith went along with my ideas and the whole process was flowing nicely and was very enriching for both of us.

Second floor - An one bedroom self-contained unit
The second floor is a self-contained 1 bedroom guests unit, that used to be a disorganized space, not a very welcoming place to stay. The second floor also has a room and a small open space landing for the grandchildren to play in. It has a small shower room and a toilet.
Although we arranged the bedroom a little bit, the focus was on the main area which is the lounge, a small kitchen and a dining area in one open space. The old TV chair inspired us to go for a retro-contemporary style. We needed a place for books but wanted to keep the space light and airy. The outcome is very different than the main floor, stylewise. The colour scheme is calmer, with graphic elements and natural materials. A great help is the greenery aspects from both windows...
All the pictures are original art works that Judith had for a long time, and they working very well in the design.
